A systematic review published in Cureus highlights that mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy is safe, well tolerated, and may improve disability, reduce inflammation, and promote nerve repair in people with multiple sclerosis. Across eight studies involving 157 participants, MSC treatments lowered markers of nerve damage, boosted neuroprotective factors, and restored immune balance by enhancing regulatory T-cell activity. While results are encouraging, researchers emphasize the need for standardized protocols and larger clinical trials to fully validate MSC therapy in MS care.
