A recent review in Cytotherapy highlights the ability of mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC) secretome to rescue cells from senescence caused by UVB, oxidative stress, inflammation, and metabolic insults. The analysis of 39 studies shows that secretome forms like conditioned media and extracellular vesicles promote rejuvenation across species and cell types, including fibroblasts and MSCs themselves. These findings support further development of MSC-derived secretome as a cell-free therapeutic strategy for age-related degeneration and chronic conditions.
