But after CAR-T therapy reprogrammed her immune system to attack cancer cells, she became cancer-free in just three months. Today, she’s celebrating her 25th wedding anniversary and spending time with her grandchildren.


Her case exemplifies the transformative power of cell therapy for patients who have exhausted conventional options. Spencer Knight also notes that the NHS and University of Cambridge will soon launch a new CAR-T lab to expand access and enable in-house T cell modifications starting in 2025.
